Google Phone introduces a new interface during calls

The Google Phone app received a new number pad interface in April with larger buttons and new animations. Google is now developing a new interface during calls, albeit with a slightly different design.

According to some screenshots shared by users on Twitter, the new user interface during the call has circular buttons, rather than pill-shaped, more contrasted by a special background.

The new layout offers users the four buttons Keypad ,  Mute ,  Loudspeaker  and  More , and the button to end the call just below. Tapping the More button adds another line at the top with shortcuts to put the call on hold, record it, and add another call.

The Google Phone app is renewed with a new interface during calls

The new interface during calls was identified with the beta version 90.0.475844574 of the Google Phone app, but at the moment it seems to be available to a small group of users.

Google hasn’t shared any details yet, so it’s not possible to predict when the feature will be released more widely.

The fact that the new interface is already visible to some users suggests that a larger rollout shouldn’t be far off.
