The original Apple AirPods Pro received one of the new model chips

Apple took an atypical step by releasing a feature for the first-generation AirPods Pro wireless headphones, introduced with the AirPods Pro 2 . We are talking about the adaptive transparency mode, which allows you to partially skip some sounds from the outside world.

According to Apple’s website , Adaptive Transparency scans ambient sounds at a rate of 48,000 times per second to muffle harsh, loud sounds, such as the siren of an ambulance passing by or noise from a construction site. In this case, a person will hear the voices of others and so on. The AirPods Pro 2 description states that Adaptive Transparency relies on the H2 processor found in these headphones. Despite this, with the release of iOS 16.1 beta 3 and the new beta firmware for headphones (number 5A304a), this feature became available to owners of the original AirPods Pro.

At the moment, it is not clear whether adaptive transparency really worked on the first generation AirPods Pro, or if this is just a bug that made the option available to all AirPods Pro owners. It has happened in the past when iOS users were erroneously made available to features that were not supported on their devices like apple watch ultra.
