A few hours ago, Lu Weibing , during an interview, said that the next flagship smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip will be a flagship in all respects. He also unveiled the flagship processor of the Redmi K50 Pro +.
The reason we praise the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 so much is that it adopts TSMC’s 4nm process and is made up of 1 Cortex-X2 super core, 3 large Cortex-A710 cores and 4 small Cortex-A510 cores. In addition, it integrates the ARM Mali-G710 GPU . On AnTuTu , this SoC managed to surpass 1 million points. In many respects it is identical to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but thanks to TSMC’s process node it provides much more stable performance than its Samsung counterpart.
Redmi K50 Pro +: Dimensity 9000, to begin with
In addition to a powerful processor, we find that the Redmi K50 Pro + will support the 120W fast charging solution. By the way, the previously released Redmi K50 e-sport version already supports Xiaomi’s super-fast fast charge. With this feature, the phone’s 4700mAh battery can be fully charged in just 17 minutes.
Through his account, Lu Weibing talked about the Redmi K50 series saying his deuton isn’t really around the corner. It is legitimate to wait for a presentation in April or later.
Well, we talked about the more powerful version. But what about the rest of the models? It turns out that the vanilla version will see the presence of another processor from MediaTek, the Dimensity 8100 . Furthermore, this is the first time that Xiaomi’s sub-brand is using MediaTek 5G chips on the high-end flagships of the K series.
As for this SoC, it reads that it was created through TSMC’s 5nm process and is comprised of four large Cortex A78 cores and four small Cortex A55 cores. The GPU is the six-core Mali-G610.
Lu Weibing said the Dimensity 8100 ‘s performance far exceeded expectations. Here is what he wrote about it:
In our internal test, the Dimensity 8100 not only has a powerful flagship performance, but also has a terrifying ultra-high energy efficiency ratio. For this reason, when you play, you don’t have to worry about the heat. In other words, unlike many Snapdragon chips, including the latest flagship, the new Dimensity chips are capable of long-lasting stable performance.
Finally: why could it beat the Xiaomi 12 Pro? Simple: the latter comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and the Redmi K50 Pro + with the D9000; according to the benchmarks, it turns out that MediaTek’s SoC is definitely more powerful than its Qualcomm counterpart. Anyway, we’ll see.
