Apple flagships continue to win all sorts of awards and titles. Previously, the main camera of the iPhone 14 Pro took second place in the overall DxOMark ranking, and now the results of testing its front camera have appeared. Here the “apple” company managed to bypass all competitors.
iPhone 14 Pro features a new 12-megapixel front-facing sensor with autofocus (a first for iPhone) and an f/1.9 lens. According to the test results, the selfie camera of this device showed the best result in five different categories at once: exposure (for photos and videos), color reproduction (for videos), bokeh effect (for photos) and stabilization (for videos).
DxOMark noted precise target exposure in both stills and video, accurate autofocus and great depth of field, high level of detail, pleasing white balance and skin tone in bright light and indoors, and natural foreground blur in bokeh shots.
The disadvantages of the iPhone 14 Pro selfie camera included noise in photos and videos, noticeable jumps in sharpness when shooting video, especially while walking, and sometimes inaccurate skin colors when shooting in difficult conditions or in scenes with high dynamic range.
In all tests, the iPhone 14 Pro selfie camera scored 145 points, taking first place in the overall DxOMark ranking, overtaking the HUAWEI P50 Pro by 1 point.
